The concept of localised advice to the Federal Government in the form of Area Consultative Committees was initially adopted in 1994. The first Area Consultative Committee for the Mid North Coast began operations in the same year.

Since then a great deal of work has been achieved by your Mid North Coast Area Consultative Committee (now Regional Development Australia - Mid North Coast). The results speak for themselves, for example, just the projects mentioned below generated some 495 additional full and part time jobs for our region!
